How long is a 100 MB video on iPhone?
About 57 seconds to 1 minute 26 seconds at 1080p. That is 100 MB divided by Apple’s range of 70 to 105 MB per minute for an iMovie export. Choose any other length in the calculator.

Why this is a range
Video size is not determined by resolution alone. Duration, frame rate, codec, HDR, movement, detail, and the exporter’s bitrate all affect the result. Apple therefore publishes an approximate range for each iMovie export resolution instead of one guaranteed number.
This calculator multiplies those per-minute ranges by your duration. It does not predict the output of Video Compressor or promise a particular saving for your source video.
Apple’s published estimates
| Export resolution | Approximate size per minute |
|---|---|
| 1080p | 70–105 MB |
| 720p | 19–27 MB |
| 540p | 12–16 MB |
| 360p | 6–9 MB |

How long common file sizes last
Each cell is minutes, rounded to two decimals. The shorter time uses the larger MB-per-minute figure. 1 GB means 1,000 MB, the same unit as the calculator.
| File size | 1080p | 720p | 540p | 360p |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 25 MB | 0.24 to 0.36 | 0.93 to 1.32 | 1.56 to 2.08 | 2.78 to 4.17 |
| 100 MB | 0.95 to 1.43 | 3.70 to 5.26 | 6.25 to 8.33 | 11.11 to 16.67 |
| 500 MB | 4.76 to 7.14 | 18.52 to 26.32 | 31.25 to 41.67 | 55.56 to 83.33 |
| 1 GB | 9.52 to 14.29 | 37.04 to 52.63 | 62.50 to 83.33 | 111.11 to 166.67 |
For 100 MB at 1080p, 100 divided by 105 is 0.95 minutes (about 57 seconds) and 100 divided by 70 is 1.43 minutes (about 1 minute 26 seconds). These durations are calculated from Apple’s per-minute ranges above. The figures are for an iMovie export. Video Compressor shows its own estimate in the app before you compress.
Frequently asked questions
How long is a 100 MB video on iPhone?
About 57 seconds to 1 minute 26 seconds at 1080p. That is 100 MB divided by Apple’s 70 to 105 MB per minute iMovie export range. At 720p the same 100 MB lasts 3.70 to 5.26 minutes.
How big is a 10-minute iPhone video?
Using Apple’s published iMovie export ranges, 10 minutes is about 700 MB to 1.05 GB at 1080p, 190 to 270 MB at 720p, 120 to 160 MB at 540p, and 60 to 90 MB at 360p.
Why does the calculator show a range instead of one number?
Duration, frame rate, codec, HDR, movement, and detail all change the exported size, so Apple publishes an approximate range per resolution rather than a guaranteed figure.
Does this predict what Video Compressor will save?
No. It uses Apple’s iMovie export estimates only. Video Compressor shows its own estimate before compressing and the measured result afterwards.
